I read the other story that went a bit further.
The first two paragraphs feel forced and unrealistic, in short, they suck.
The rest though, seems to be moving right along. I liked "waistnoids" I thought it was funny. If you changed it to "wastenoids" it would make a bit more sense though.
Overall, decently well written. I would try to add a bit more of the five senses though…many people only write about what they can hear and see and forget about touch, smell, and taste. Those are important things to help bring a story to life.

Give yourself a little bit of extra time in the morning so that you are not rushed off your feet. Do not make the start of the day a bad one as then everything else will become so.
