Stunning Hawaii – A Breathtaking Vacation

Aloha! Gorgeous Hawaii is one of the top holiday hot spots in the entire world. For a good reason too! This group of islands offers beauty beyond comparison and does not require a passport for United States travellers. It is the 50th of the fifty states, but the culture here is so various it feels like you’re in a completely unique place.

You can find eight principal island destinations to experience located in Hawaii’s archipelago: The Big Island (Hawaii), The Valley Isle (Maui), The Target Isle (Kahoolawe), The Pineapple Isle (Lanai), The Friendly Isle (Molokai), The Gathering Place (Oahu), The Garden Isle (Kauai) and last but not least The Forbidden Isle (Niihau).

The language in Hawaii is utterly lovely. It’s of Polynesian origin, but English is the primary language within the islands. There has been a considerable move recently to re-emphasize the usage of the Hawaiian language and to also pass along the unique and varied way of life of old Hawaii within the schools.

The highest of all the Hawaiian Islands is the Big Island with the Mauna Kea volcano and it is officially documented 13,796 feet tall. However, if measurements from the very base of the mountain on the sea bottom were taken you will find a record setting 33,500 foot height. Amazing!

Wonderful weather will be found any time of the year, with the lowest temperatures averaging only 60 degrees. Hawaii has characteristic tropical island weather with somewhat less humidity stemming from trade winds that blow through all of the islands. Usually there are just two seasons in these islands. The dry period takes place from May until October while the wet period occurs from October until April.

Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, by air and sea, sinking or destroying a number of Navy warships and taking some 2400 lives. ?t is possible to visit and explore the actual site and also see some of the old ships still there to this day.

Main cities in the islands include Honolulu, Kalaoa, Puunene, Omao, Napili, Kalapana, Anahola and Hanamaulu. Each hold their own personal experience for visitors, yet it would take more than only one vacation to experience it all.

The islands have a number of unique ethnic groups which, through the years, have come to call Hawaii home. To name a few, Polynesian, Japanese, Filipino, Korean, Chinese, German, English, Irish, Portuguese, Italian, African, French, Mexican, Scottish and Puerto Rican. Each have made their own mark.

A couple of short paragraphs can not totally include all the lovely things which Hawaii has to offer you. It is one of those destinations you will need to see to believe. Those who have vacationed here have had nothing but very good things to say about the state. Make your next holiday trip at one of the many hotels the islands offer and explore Hawaii’s majestic natural beauty firsthand.

Andy Pitman, a climate change expert, said changing rainfall patterns in the west and south of the country had been well studied. “But no one has yet made a systematic attack on why NSW climate has changed in the way it has,” he said.

Anyhow I'm not disputing the drop over the last 50 years. I'm noting that the 50 year comparison is biased by starting with what appears to be an unusually wet period.

If you look at those trend maps for 100 years, 90 years or 80 years the drop on the east coast, at least NSW and Victorian coast largely disappears (actually it appears to have increased over much of it) , although there is some drying along the queensland coast.]]>
